Presented With The Golden Key of Travel!

June 25, 2010 at the DiecastSpace Magical Weekend of Cars convention in Orlando Florida I received another award in conjunction with my Hall of Fame induction.  I was awarded “The Golden Key” and recognition plaque by DiecastSpace.

“The Golden Key” signifies the fact that I can now attend all DiecastSpace conventions on a gratis basis which includes all airfare, hotel accommodations and convention event/car combination packages.  It was given to me in recognition of my many contributions not only to the diecast community as a whole but to my many contributions to DiecastSpace conventions past, present and future.

I hope that the partnership between DiecastSpace and I will continue to be one of long time friendship and camaraderie mixed with original and innovative diecast custom designs and convention ideas that fans of both will eagerly anticipate and attend for many years to come!

Class of 2010 Diecast Ha
ll of Fame Induction!

February 26, 2010 was a day that forever changed my life.  It was on that day that I was inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame!  Just three years prior when I began customizing diecast cars I never dreamed it would lead to such an accolade.

I started independently customizing diecast in 2004 to bring awareness to a small charity myself and others had created called Diecast 911.  DC911 was an organization dedicated to bringing happiness to sick children in local hospitals through toy cars.  Being a graphic artist by profession I was able to combine all of my talents and interests in art, computers and cars to create custom diecast as a way to raise cash to buy more toys to donate to children in need.  The popularity of DC911 quickly grew and soon there were chapters in four states.  This rapid success propelled me to try to do customs outside of DC911.

Unfortunately, during 2006 DC911 folded but my love for customizing
flourished allowing me to be able to create three customs that became
the catalyst for my decision to create Pope Designs:
     - 2006 Atlanta Nationals - BJ Grammy Chocolate Party Drag Bus
     - 2006 Garden Grove Convention - Hallow Wheels Bash Drag Bus
     - 2006 Kringle Delivery Service Drag Bus 1 of 1 custom
Response to the buses was so overwhelmingly positive that entering the
customs-for-sale arena was inevitable, thus Pope Designs was born.

Since 2007 I have been able to produc
e dozens of successful and well-regarded customs, won a number of customizing contest awards, traveled the United States and internationally all the while meeting wonderful people who love cars and customizing as much as I do.  When I was told I would be inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame I almost didn’t believe it!  I never realized that all I had already created would allow me to receive such an honor as that.  Since my induction, I have continued to produce unique and successful customs eagerly collected by a large fan base and won awards as recognition for their quality.

There are many people who have helped me along the way to achieve the success I have garnered including my wife, my children, family and close friends.  I hope to continue with Pope Designs as long as I have fans that support me and love to collect what I create. I am truly blessed to be able to follow my dream.
